Vicki Whiting, President, Editor and Founder

Vicki Whiting is president, editor and founder of Kid Scoop, a weekly newspaper feature geared to children ages 7 to 12 that appears in over 300 newspapers with a combined circulation of more than 7.5 million. A former elementary school teacher, she also is a consultant to newspapers on the topic of developing youth readership and educational partnerships. She is the corporate educational services consultant to Freedom Communications Inc., and has been a consultant or writer for The New York Times, Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey, the National Baseball Hall of Fame, in addition to numerous educational publishers.

Our mission is to enable children to become informed about and active participants in their local communities. Kid Scoop promotes this by starting children reading a newspaper at a young age. Each week Kid Scoop offers entertaining and educational content, as well as scavenger hunts and other interactive games that lead young readers to other parts of the newspaper.

About Catherine Beauvais, Publisher, The Life & Times

Catherine Beauvais, owner, co-founder and publisher of The Life and Times News Magazine Group... an all "Good News" community newspaper that spans Simcoe County and beyond. Previously Catherine was a publisher of Children's Environmental products, English Second Language Products and producer of Mutual Funds magazines. Her background in sales and marketing as well as printing and communications allowed her to easily establish The Life and Times as a newspaper of choice in the Simcoe County area.

Catherine and her family moved to Simcoe County to start something new and began publishing the Life and Times as a family production. They are going into their fifth year of publishing in Simcoe County and have also produced the yearly Bridal Magazine, VOWs (www.vowsonline.ca), the upcoming event guide; The E&E (Entertainment and Events Guide) featuring the Towns of Christmas, Spring, Summer and Fall and now the Kid Scoop newspaper to promote literacy amongst the children of Simcoe County.
